For too long, manufacturing enterprises have prioritized productivity centered around economic and commercial gains, guided by key performance indicators (KPIs) such as speed to market, manufacturing cost, operational cost, and overall profitability. This compels industrial and process manufacturers to realize that the traditional approach and measures for maintaining productivity are no longer sustainable. The fundamental premise in which resource productivity takes a backseat to other operational priorities will no longer hold true.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Industries heavily rely on fossil fuels throughout the product and service lifecycle. Over 80% of the world’s primary energy is derived from fossil fuels containing carbon. The carbon from various fossil fuels accumulates in the atmosphere when primary energy is converted into energy vectors (e.g., burning coal to generate electricity).
